P. 43. Torah 48 discusses the important yesod (foundational idea) of the importance of constantly starting over again after a failed attempt in avodas Hashem (serving G-d). The Baal Shem Tov at first was sad, but then celebrated that he lost his portion in Olam HaBa (the World to Come). We must start again, even several times in the same day. In Likutei Halachos, Reb Nosson warns us to not fall into the old adage of the Other Side, which tells us that we already have a history of failure in a particular area. He also tells us to do anything, even the smallest thing, in avodas Hashem, so that we stay connected. |
