A person can have a "loose wire" from either: children, health or parnossa (livelihood). The remedy is tefillah (prayer). Very difficult to concentrate on davening because we are in prison with our pain. We can go to a tzaddik (righteous person) who has the keys to the prison and he can re-connect us. If we are really "down and out" we need to attach ourselves to a tzaddik. When we give money to a tzaddik we give a part of our very essence to the tzaddik. The tzaddik includes us in his prayers and "takes care of us."
